If Trump releases the hostages, 'The View' co-host pledges to wear a MAGA hat.
'If Trump releases Israeli hostages, 'The View' co-host promised to wear a Trump hat.'
If President-elect Donald Trump can persuade Hamas to release their hostages, Alyssa Farah Griffin of The View would wear a MAGA hat for an entire episode.
Griffin's proposal was discussed during the women hosts' conversation about Trump's attendance at the reopening of the Notre Dame Cathedral. The cathedral, which had been damaged by a fire in 2019, hosted its first Mass on Sunday, with a large crowd in attendance. The Mass followed the cathedral's opening ceremony, which took place on Saturday and was attended by Trump, the first lady, Prince William, and other notable figures.
The photo of Trump and the first lady exchanging pleasantries at the event went viral, and the incoming president used it to advertise his new line of fragrances.
"My new Trump Perfumes & Colognes are called Fight, Fight, Fight because they symbolize our victory," Trump announced on Truth Social. "A scent that your opponents can't resist," the tagline reads.
The co-hosts of "The View" disagreed on the messaging surrounding Trump's photos with the first lady and the authenticity of their relationship.
Sara Hines cautioned that a photo may not fully reveal everything happening behind the scenes.
She stated, "Two photos I took of the same thing show you, but it's not as friendly-looking, and there may be more happening."
Griffin contended that this photo serves to reassure not only America and its allies, but also to warn its global adversaries that the republic remains united.
"The co-host, who previously worked for Trump, stated that it is crucial for not only America's allies but also its adversaries to observe the election outcome. The world was watching with anticipation to see if there would be a peaceful transition of power, despite concerns about Trump's leadership. Despite warnings about Trump's actions, the co-host emphasized that America would move forward. Additionally, the co-host mentioned that Trump met with Macron and Zelenskyy to discuss the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, a topic that the co-host cares deeply about and hopes Trump will continue to support Ukraine in line with the U.S.'s position."
She then underlined her point and made a proposal that got immediate backlash.
Griffin stated that when he says he won't be apocalyptic, it's not a change in tune. He emphasized that he wouldn't exaggerate every situation into a five-alarm fire. If the hostages are rescued, Griffin promised to wear a MAGA hat on his show and express gratitude.
One of her co-hosts said, "Please don't do that," sounding annoyed.
"Griffin joked, "You have to be able to cheer for wins when they happen, and call out relentlessly the wrongdoing," before arguing, "She’’ll knock it off my head.""
Griffin, who previously served as the White House director of strategic communications during Trump's first administration, has been a vocal critic of the former president on "The View," frequently warning of the dangers he poses to the country.
