Last weekend, hundreds of Ohio State University football players gathered on campus for a prayer and worship rally, with many also being baptized into Christianity.

According to Kamryn Babb, a former Ohio State wide receiver and event organizer, the event aimed to bring true joy and peace that can only be found in Jesus Christ, and he believes this can be achieved in Columbus and on the campus.

"God is present and actively seeking after the hearts of people of all ages, sizes, and backgrounds."

The Buckeye team players who organized the event distributed 10,000 Bibles and shared how their faith brought them closer as a team.

The group of speakers included wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, running back TreVeyon Henderson, tight end Gee Scott, defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau, and former team running back Master Teague.

On the Columbus campus, over 50 baptisms took place, and Babb said, "God truly showed up," adding that he was "honored to see my Lord and my Savior move the way that he did" as people search for hope in Jesus' love.

"He delivered, saved, and healed many great people who were in a similar position as I was before meeting him," he stated.

"He encouraged the world to repent of their sins and believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the power to save men and women. He stated that those who believe in his name and believe in what he did on the cross have the right to be children of God. He invited everyone to bring hurting souls and people looking for hope and love to God, who is the only place where they can find it."

"Believe in Jesus and experience an unparalleled love, peace, and joy that no worldly thing, person, touchdown, or anything else can provide."

The event was held in partnership with local churches in the area. According to local reports, between 800 and 1,000 people attended, while Babbs' mother claimed on X that over 2,000 were present.

"Babbs addressed the crowd, stating that regardless of their life experiences, there is a God who loves and desires them. He encouraged the crowd to see themselves as God sees them during their worship. As they entered the night, Babbs urged them to give God the glory."

In 2021 and 2022, Babb was elected as the captain of the football team and has earned the title of a four-time scholar athlete.
