Gretchen Adler, a viral "Trad wife," is empowering women to reclaim their homes and kitchens.
Her goldfish recipe went viral, making Adler famous.
Gretchen Adler, a TikTok sensation known as a "trad wife," has gained notoriety for demonstrating how to create homemade goldfish for her kids. She asserts that women are reclaiming their kitchens.
A self-described traditional wife and mother, Adler is gaining popularity on social media with her healthy, homemade recipes and simple lifestyle. The home chef is challenging the "boss babe mentality" and inspiring women to embrace the joy of homemaking.
"We were pushed out of our home and into the workplace, where we were made to believe that we shouldn't be stay-at-home moms and that we don't need to raise our children. However, Adler argues that a woman's role is to raise healthy, strong, intelligent children who will become the next generation of world leaders. Women are now realizing that they were sold a lie and that they are meant to raise their children and feed them for optimal health."
Adler, motivated by the "ancestral diet" while pregnant with her second child, prepares all her household meals and snacks from basic ingredients.
Despite not growing up in the kitchen, the home chef impresses her social media audience with her cooking skills, as women staying at home was not seen as "aspirational" at the time.
"My children led me to realize the importance of prioritizing their health over my own," she said to Planet Chronicle. "After six years of doing this, I've opened my eyes to the bigger picture involving big food, big Pharma, and the health crisis in our country. Now my message is to promote good health to the world and educate people on the power of food for their well-being."
No food is off limits for the stay-at-home mom who always includes her children in her cooking.
"If they want chocolate chip cookies, let's make them," she said. "Let's choose our ingredients and decrease the sugar, using whole grain flour instead of white flour. This way, we can make delicious chocolate chip cookies that are allowed and appreciated. It's great if they can get involved and help make these foods for themselves, too. This will get them excited about what they're eating."
Adler says people must "carve out the life they want."
"I've discovered how to balance being a stay-at-home mom, raising my children, preparing healthy meals, and building a successful business from home," she stated. "While it may look different for others, it's achievable if you visualize and pursue your dream, and I'm living the life I desire."
Gretchy Recipes, launched by a home chef, aims to help people learn domestic skills and teach their children.
"Our country is facing a chronic disease epidemic, including obesity, cancer, Alzheimer's, and ADHD in children. The root cause of these health problems is the widespread consumption of ultra-processed, fast food, restaurant, and microwave dinner options, which are not considered real food. People are becoming aware of this issue and are taking action to reclaim their homes and kitchens. This movement is inspiring and exciting to witness."
