Former Gen Z Democrats switch allegiance from Biden, cite years of being deceived by "left-wing propaganda."
Young voters help Trump close gap with Biden, says Planet Chronicle poll.
The historically deep-blue voting bloc is turning away from the Democratic Party and towards President Trump, with Gen Z voters leading the way ahead of the November presidential election.
On Tuesday, Becky Oliveira and Grace Guentzel, both former Democrats, appeared on "Fox & Friends" to explain why they left the party and its progressive values, despite having grown up in left-wing households.
"Oliveira grew up in Queens, New York, a politically diverse borough, and was exposed to left-wing propaganda through social media. He accepted it wholeheartedly until he started to question its emotional basis and logic."
""After realizing the impact of Democratic policies on my city, the riots following George Floyd's death, the devastation of Madison Avenue, and the actions of roving rioters all came to a head around 2020," she continued."
A Planet Chronicle poll shows that Trump has gained 10% support among Gen Z voters since 2020, while Biden has lost 7% of his support among this age group. Despite this, Biden still maintains an 8% lead over Trump among young voters, according to the same poll.
Oliveira was once a "leftist and radical feminist" who was devastated by former President Trump's first term victory. Now, she can't fathom voting for anyone else.
"Oliveira stated that he will vote for Donald Trump in November because the current administration has caused significant damage to the country and is ruining their future."
Although Guentzel grew up in a liberal family, she now identifies as a Republican.
"Guentzel stated that he found it crucial to examine the intricacies and conduct his own research. He felt that he was surrounded by Democrats and was accustomed to their culture, so it was normal for him. However, he realized that his perspective was one-sided, and he began to leave the hole he was in by broadening his circle and exposing himself to different viewpoints."
Although she hasn't yet decided who to vote for in November, she stated she won't back Biden for a second term.
"I won't be voting for Joe Biden because I believe we can't have another four years of open borders and related issues," she stated.
