Florida Governor Ron DeSantis boasts about the state's "future-oriented mindset" and pledges to assist the incoming Trump administration in any way possible.
The governor of Florida criticized California's shortcomings on Planet Chronicle.
On "Hannity" Thursday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis reiterated his previous criticism of California and expressed his admiration for the Sunshine State's "future-oriented mindset."
"DeSantis stated that the failures discussed during his debate with Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2023 have worsened the already dire situation in California, particularly with regards to water resources and forest management. He attributed these failures to the state's ideology."
"Florida represents the future way of thinking, while the past way of thinking is no longer relevant."
Since the wildfires in California last week, the state's leaders have been under intense scrutiny. Nevertheless, criticism of California's "leftist ideology" is not a novelty.
"Gavin Newsom has failed to mess up California since he became governor due to his leftist ideology, according to DeSantis during the "Hannity" special on Nov. 30, 2023."
The Los Angeles wildfires have sparked criticism of California's Democratic leaders' policies, particularly with regards to funding for first responders, as the Trump administration prepares to take office.
Florida is taking its responsibility to uphold laws seriously and is willing to work constructively with the new administration, while California is going to intensify its failure.
The executive highlighted immigration and border security as a major area of difference.
"When Donald Trump becomes president, he will prioritize securing the border and addressing illegal immigration. California and Los Angeles, being sanctuary states and cities, will oppose him at every turn, refusing to cooperate. However, Florida, which is not a sanctuary state, has already banned sanctuary cities, and I implemented this policy during my first year as governor."
DeSantis pledged his state's commitment to uphold the Trump agenda, encouraging other states to join in the effort.
"We will allocate resources to achieve significant positive changes very soon," he stated.
"For decades, we have discussed illegal immigration at the border as Republicans. Now is the time for action. President Trump cannot accomplish this task alone; Congress must support him, and the states must increase their efforts."
