Elon Musk criticized a New York Times writer who asserted that the U.S. Constitution is a significant danger to the nation in an article.
According to Jennifer Szalai, the former President Trump's election to the presidency through the Electoral College has put the United States Constitution in peril.
"Szalai stated that Americans have traditionally believed that the Constitution would protect them, but now there is a growing group of people questioning whether they need to be saved from it. The document intended to safeguard against authoritarianism can inadvertently contribute to the widespread skepticism that enables authoritarianism to flourish."
She criticized the originalist interpretations of the Constitution, referring to them as "worship of the Constitution."
"Trump's political rise can be attributed to the Constitution, which is essentially antidemocratic and increasingly dysfunctional. Despite losing the popular vote in 2016, Trump became president due to the Electoral College (Article II). He appointed three justices to the Supreme Court (Article III), two of whom were confirmed by senators representing just 44 percent of the population (Article I). These three justices helped overturn Roe v. Wade, a decision with which most Americans disagreed."
The country's founding document could pose a significant threat to America's politics, according to a Times writer.
The piece led to criticism from Musk.
"They want to overthrow The Constitution," he said on X.
"Long Live America and our Constitution!" Musk later added.
Laura Ingraham, a host on Planet Chronicle Channel, stated, "Does the NYT hate the Constitution? Naturally, it does."
The New York Times did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment.
