During a city council meeting, Chicago residents criticized Mayor Brandon Johnson's liberal policies, calling them "stupid."
Residents accused the Democratic mayor of a lack of transparency in using taxpayer funds to care for illegal immigrants, wearing 'Chicago flips red' shirts.
On Wednesday, Chicago residents criticized Mayor Brandon Johnson and other city officials for allegedly disregarding the constitutional rights of citizens, expressing dissatisfaction with tax hikes, and demanding greater transparency regarding the city's management of the migrant crisis.
Speaker Zoe Leigh stated, "You all are directly violating the U.S. Constitution. Yet, you sit and discuss how Trump is unconstitutional and how he will overthrow the government. However, I have been attending this party for two years. This is the Democratic Party, not Trump or Matt Gaetz."
Despite accusing Trump and Republicans of corruption and Constitutional violations, Democrats in Chicago have ignored constitutional rights, covered up fraudulent actions, and failed to address public corruption, just like what my Black family has faced under their leadership.
Mayor Brandon Johnson, did you only intend to fight for the 10th and 14th amendments regarding illegal aliens when you took an oath to uphold the Constitution?
Chicago residents have been using the city council meeting to criticize officials, particularly regarding the city's handling of the influx of migrants. A group of Black residents, wearing "Chicago flips red" shirts, have come together to protest against the far-left Democratic policies in the city.
Leigh, who had previously spoken out against city officials, was wearing one of the "Chicago flips red" shirt.
Jessica Jackson, who spoke after Leigh, accused officials of not being transparent about how they're handling the migrant crisis.
""The administration's foolishness in assuming that we are unaware of the budget's tax increases and the lack of transparency in the spending on illegals is the city's financial downfall," Jackson stated."
Jackson stated that no audit or financial accounting for illegal immigration has been conducted.
In his neighborhood, King's elementary school was transformed into a migrant shelter.
The construction helmet worn by the king had "Chicago flips red" written on it, and he informed officials that it represented the cartoon character "Bob-the-Builder."
King stated that the hat worn by Bob-the-builder symbolizes the construction of a wall around America and Chicago, which is meant to keep illegals and migrants out. He emphasized that this is not a community that welcomes such individuals and that they should not be given any financial assistance. King pointed out that there are already Black people in the community who are struggling and need help, and that accepting 7 million dollars for illegals is a disgrace.
He stated that the election of Donald Trump signifies something beyond just his victory.
"No matter who, vote blue is finished," King declared.
Despite residents' pleas for more resources, over 20,000 illegal immigrants have resided in Chicago since August 2022, with thousands of them staying in shelters.
Since August 2022, the city has spent $574.5 million on sheltering migrants, which has caused residents to express their dissatisfaction. At a city council meeting on December 3rd, residents opposed a proposed $60 million property tax increase aimed at addressing a $1 billion budget deficit by the end of the year.
A request for comment from Mayor Brandon Johnson's office was not immediately responded to.
