A Democratic senator stated to Planet Chronicle that former President Trump has a chance of winning in November and emphasized the need for the Republican Party to be restored to its former glory, while the Democratic Party must be held accountable.

West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, who announced in November that he will not seek re-election, stated that he "most certainly" believes Trump can achieve a victory in the 2024 election. The primary election for West Virginia will take place on Tuesday.

On Saturday, a red state senator informed Brian Kilmeade of "One Nation" that he hails from an area of "practical," "diligent individuals."

""They value freedom and democracy, and they don't want the government to interfere with their lives. They believe in self-reliance and taking responsibility for their actions," he said."

The lawmaker, who opposed being a "Washington Democrat," voiced worry about the trajectory of both political parties.

"The Grand Old Party and the Democrat Party have become so extreme, and we need to restore their grandeur and accountability, respectively," he stated. "I believe they've lost their way and are only focusing on their own echo chambers in Washington, which doesn't make sense. We don't live our lives like this."

Manchin disclosed that he has discussed with President Biden the course the country is taking.

"He said, "I told the president, 'Be careful,' and emphasized the importance of taking responsibility for one's country, rather than relying on it to provide everything. He expressed concern that this mindset was becoming more prevalent, with people asking, 'How much more can my country do for me?' He believed that this was not the spirit of the country and that it was important to fight for what one could do for their country. He appreciated the support his country had given him and was determined to give back.""

The senator also commented on the Israel-Hamas war and the "misinformation" that is causing people to declare their "support for a terrorist organization like Hamas."

"I lived through the Vietnam era, which was marked by numerous protests. However, the protests I witnessed were aimed at improving America, even if I disagreed with their views. In contrast, the current protests seek to destroy the very fabric of America, and we must not tolerate such behavior."

Manchin stated that he met with Cindy McCain, the widow of the late Senator John McCain, R-Ariz., and she informed him last week that 30 trucks filled with food had been hijacked.

"She states, 'I had 30 trucks filled with food — 30 trailer trucks that were seized by Hamas. Despite being their own, they were denied access to their own people.'"
