Don Lemon is astonished by Black voters who claim to support Trump, believing he stands with them.
Lemon stated that the information provided by voters supporting Trump was false for all the reasons they were stating.
Don Lemon, a former CNN host, was surprised to discover that many voters in deep-blue cities supported former President Trump in the upcoming election, mainly due to economic concerns.
It was eye-opening to hear so many people, including people of color and women, say they would support Donald Trump, according to Lemon. He expressed uncertainty about the accuracy of polls regarding the tightening of the polls and who would ultimately support whom.
Lemon recently shared videos of his discussions with voters in Atlantic City, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh, where he sought their opinions on Trump and Vice President Harris while defending the economy under President Biden.
Psaki was informed by him that he had to correct voters who believed "inaccurate information" about the economy being better under Trump compared to Biden.
Jen argued that many Black men who supported Donald Trump did so because they received a stimulus check from him, which was $1,200. However, they failed to remember that the current president also gave them a stimulus check, but without Trump's name on it. As a result, Jen had to repeatedly remind them that the check did not originate from Trump, but from a Democratic Congress.
He stated that the responses to Harris varied among voters in battleground states, and many were not well-acquainted with her.
He believes that she needs to reintroduce herself to the public, while for him, they thought he was better for the economy because he brought money into the community or was on Black people's side.
"I wasn't surprised by that because I have been doing this long enough to know that people's voting behavior is unpredictable. It's their personal choice, but it's important for them to be informed when they go into the voting booth. However, the information they provided me was false, and they didn't understand the correct reasons for voting for him."
The ex-CNN host, who has always considered the former president a "racist," was taken aback by the large number of Black voters supporting him, despite his conversations with them. However, he acknowledged that inflation was a significant concern for voters.
"Is it surprising that many African- Americans are supporting him? A little. However, I believe that people often idealize the past. Despite the fact that, according to most indicators, the economy is thriving and is booming, what individuals do is they vote based on prices. They vote with their wallets. Perhaps the economy is improving. Both can be true: the economy can be improving, but prices are rising and people have less money and fewer resources to spend on high-priced items and to support their families," he stated.
A recent Real Clear Politics polling average shows that Trump has a 1.5 point deficit nationally compared to Harris.
In battleground states, Black voters have shown renewed enthusiasm for Harris since she became the Democratic nominee, despite this enthusiasm being lost when Biden was the top candidate.
In June, polling found that Biden only led Trump 54%-15% among Black voters in Michigan and 56%-11% among Black voters in Pennsylvania, but now Harris leads Trump 70%-9% among Black voters in Michigan and 70%-11% among Black voters in Pennsylvania, according to the results of a Suffolk University/USA Today poll released Sunday.
