Black voters in Michigan who supported President-elect Donald Trump rejected the claim that they are racist and misogynist.

Leslie Jones, a maintenance technician at an apartment complex in the Detroit area, stated that she believes it is highly offensive because they possess their own thoughts.

Jones criticized former President Obama for implying that misogyny may have contributed to Black men's lack of support for Kamala Harris, who was the Democratic presidential nominee. Prior to the election, Obama had expressed to a group of Black men at a campaign event that they appeared to be unenthusiastic about the prospect of a female president.

Jones stated that he is a free thinker and did not vote for her solely because she is a woman. Instead, he opposed her policies. He also criticized Barack Obama's actions as arrogant.

Robin Barnes, principal broker and owner of Real Estate-Latitude Realty Group, stated that the name-calling is solely based on fear-mongering.

During election cycles, Barnes is also employed by America First Works. She was highly active in the Oakland County region for the organization during the 2024 presidential campaign.

The Southfield, Michigan resident who supports Trump stated, "Policies are key in swaying voters' opinions. Understanding how policies impact daily life eliminates the need for fear-mongering."

Following Trump's triumph over Harris, Democrats and media commentators conducted a post-mortem analysis of the election results, revealing the Democratic Party's decline in support among their most loyal constituents: Black and Latino men.

On Election Day, the two groups showed their support for the GOP presidential nominee more than ever before, forming a multi-racial working class coalition in the Republican Party. The attraction of Black and Latino men to Trump prompted "Morning Joe" co-anchor and his wife and co-host, Mika Brzezinski, to reflect with MSNBC contributor Rev. Al Sharpton about the voters' choices.

Scarborough stated that Democrats must be mature and truthful, and they must acknowledge that misogyny is not only perpetrated by White men.

"Hispanic men and black men exhibit misogyny, which has been widely discussed, and they do not want women as leaders," he stated.

Scarborough suggested that there could be race issues among Hispanics who do not want a Black woman to be the President of the United States.

Dr. Wendy Webster

Dr. Wendy Webster, a podiatrist, stated on Planet Chronicle Digital that it was "reprehensible" for former president Barack Obama to have any criticisms of Black men.

Webster stated that he did not assist Black individuals while he was in office.

She stated that she does not appreciate Barack Obama because he lacked a valid reason to address Black men, as he does not represent their interests.

Dwayne Harvey, a math teacher from Detroit, stated that Obama is disconnected from Black men.

Harvey stated that Barack did not grow up in a Black community, but rather in privileged environments with his White mother in Hawaii and other places.

He stated that the issue was not related to her gender or race, but rather to the policies.
