Dems lose moral high ground after no primary and Trump's pardon of Hunter.
Charlamagne criticizes the Democratic Party for not being as pure as they claim to be.
The recent controversies of the Democrats have undermined their moral authority as a party, according to radio host Charlamagne tha God.
On Sunday, President Biden issued a sweeping pardon for his son Hunter, who had been convicted of two federal cases earlier this year. Hunter had pleaded guilty to federal tax charges in September and was convicted of three felony gun charges in June after lying on a mandatory gun purchase form by stating he was not illegally using or addicted to drugs.
The president contended in a statement that Hunter was targeted solely due to his relationship with him and that there was an attempt to undermine Hunter in order to weaken him.
Charlamagne on The Breakfast Club radio show contended that Hunter Biden was targeted due to his illegal gun and tax evasion charges, not because he was the president's son.
The host of the podcast argued that pardoning one's son would harm the Democratic Party's reputation as a party that upholds democratic values and ethical standards.
"Charlamagne stated that he doesn't care about the moral high ground that Democrats claim politically, as they have shown they are not pure by skipping the primary process when Biden stepped down and pardoning his son. He added that elected officials can do whatever they want as long as they have the political will and courage to do it."
Biden's decision to grant Hunter a "Full and Unconditional Pardon" was influenced by his role as both a father and president.
"Throughout my career, I have adhered to a straightforward principle: to inform the American people truthfully. They are fair-minded individuals. The truth is that I support the justice system, but I believe that politics has corrupted the process, resulting in an injustice. After making this decision this weekend, I felt it was necessary to act immediately. I hope that Americans will comprehend why a father and a President would make such a decision."
