Democrats should reflect on their actions after election loss, says Bill Maher.
Trump won the election because the country is tired of the "woke" nonsense, according to Maher.
Bill Maher, the host of HBO's "Real Time," gave a harsh critique of the Democratic Party following their defeat to President-elect Donald Trump in the presidential election.
The comedian began his Friday night show by urging the audience to examine their actions after the loss and recognize that Americans require practical policies, not those that prioritize social justice.
He declared, "Look in the mirror, losers," before berating the silent studio audience.
"No? Well, maybe you should."
He recited a series of jokes criticizing the Democratic Party for not recognizing Trump's historic victory.
"Democrats have been questioning how close Trump's re-election was for months, and they were right. He did not win a second term. However, they should have anticipated this outcome. America rarely rejects the opportunity for a second serving of something."
This week, the President-elect's victory was highly significant, as Maher pointed out.
The comic stated that Trump won all seven swing states and ran the table.
Trump's 2020 phone call to Georgia officials asking them to help him find the votes he needed to win the election was so big that he called the Secretary of State in Georgia and asked him to lose him 11,000 votes, Maher joked.
The Trump critic, who consistently criticizes Trump, praised his Election Day performance, stating, "However, it's worth noting that he has a remarkable coalition. He maintained his base of supporters while also attracting new voters. Many people expressed their desire to witness what he would accomplish."
The host joked that this vote could be referred to as the "high-cat" vote.
In recent decades, Trump made a significant improvement in consecutive GOP election performances. As per CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten, Trump outperformed his previous election results in 49 states and Washington, D.C.
"However, he outperformed in every demographic. According to the exit poll, he obtained 52% of White women's votes. He also received their support," Maher joked.
He made fun of liberals, including Vice President Kamala Harris, during his speech. He joked, "It's said that she saw the writing on the wall. At ten o'clock on Election Night, she called McDonald's to see if she could get her old job back."
He criticized her for poor performance "across all categories," but also ridiculed her for having strong support among a specific group of people who wanted sex change operations, which she had supported in 2019.
He acknowledged that the Democratic Party's loss in the election was largely due to his outspoken criticism of "woke" ideology, which he believes has become too politically correct and divisive.
