Democrats have a 'deeper,' 'muscular patriotism' than Republicans' 'cheaper' version, according to Van Jones.
Jones stated that the value of freedom encompasses more than just the ability to avoid paying taxes or expressing personal opinions; it also includes the freedom to lead a fulfilling life.
On Wednesday, CNN commentator Van Jones appeared to imply that Republicans exhibit a "cheaper" form of patriotism compared to Democrats, who possess a "deeper" and "muscular" devotion to their country.
Jones stated on CNN that there is a distinction between what he calls "cheaper patriotism" and "deeper patriotism." He believes that the patriotism displayed at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago is of a deeper nature, not just the superficial "rah-rah stuff."
"The speaker emphasized that freedom is not limited to being able to avoid paying taxes or expressing displeasure, but rather encompasses the ability to lead a fulfilling life. He added, "To achieve this, we require cooperation and intelligent governance.""
"Kamala Harris's muscular patriotism is evident in her determination to fight for her vision of freedom and her belief in the country's potential. This new combination of strength and conviction is something I haven't seen before."
On Wednesday, Jones sang a different tune than he did a month ago at the Republican National Convention, where he described feeling a palpable "spirit" and unique enthusiasm in the room that was reminiscent of former President Obama's first nomination in 2008.
"The last time I felt like this at a convention was during Obama's 2008 campaign. Something is happening," he said then.
The DNC was praised by a CNN commentator on Wednesday for its energy, with the Democrats being credited for revitalizing the "Democrat Party" by showcasing a new generation of leaders and supporters.
He stated that the new generation is taking the scene, giving it a very different feel.
On Tuesday night, he seemed to become emotional while responding to the speeches of former President Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama, describing them as a "perfect example of leadership."
""They took on the sacred task well, creating an oasis on stage that I didn't realize I had been missing. I didn't realize how much I missed them until they did that," he said at the time."
"Kamala Harris inherited the machinery of the party from Biden, while the Obamas renewed the magic of the movement by transferring it powerfully through nostalgia."
