Country singer Brian Kelley to release "Make America Great Again" song: "I'm a patriotic citizen"
Kelley, a vocal supporter of Donald Trump, was a performer at the 2024 Republican National Convention.
On the third day of the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, country music star Brian Kelley performed and later announced the release date of his new song, "Make America Great Again," via social media.
The self-written single will be released to fans next Friday.
On Wednesday, Kelley performed his song "American Spirit" on the RNC's main stage, which was released to fans in 2022.
Kelley stated in a video interview with Planet Chronicle Digital that he received a call and inquired about his interest, to which he replied, "Absolutely, I'm available." He disclosed that he discovered he would be performing around the time Gold Star Families honored their fallen loved ones.
"I believe it was a fantastic chance to back my country," Kelley remarked. "I consider it one of the greatest experiences I've had in my career."
The Holy Redeemer Institutional Church of God In Christ Choir was performed by Kelley, while UNC fraternity brothers proudly carried Old Glory in front of the stage.
The singer who sang "See You Next Summer" stated that the performance would remain etched in his memory forever, and his parents were proud and assured of his decision to entertain the political crowd.
""The crowd's atmosphere was electric, and you could sense the love and support, making it feel like a family," he stated."
Kelley stated that he did not have the chance to meet former President Trump, who was officially nominated for president by the GOP on Thursday night, but he is eager to shake his hand in the near future.
""45 has gone through so much," Kelley remarked."
On Saturday, a gunman attempted to assassinate the GOP nominee, Donald Trump, at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, by shooting him in the ear.
"Kelley was disgusted upon learning about the shooting, stating that it's unfortunate it occurred in America."
No matter your political affiliation, Kelley emphasizes that violence has no place in American society.
"A week before the assassination attempt, I wrote 'Make America Great Again,'" Kelley stated. "It was clear to me that I had to release it."
The singer-songwriter stated that he spent two or three days crafting patriotic lyrics. Kelley aims for the single to serve as an American anthem for those seeking to discover their own voice. He mentioned that the song was simple to write because he drew inspiration from his own emotions and frustrations regarding the current state of the world.
"I knew in my heart and gut that I would take a stand and release this song," Kelley stated, proudly adding, "As a concerned real American, I am proud of it."
Kelley, a native of Florida, was raised by his parents to uphold his beliefs and remain steadfast. He stated that he is staying true to those values and utilizing his creative talents to publicly support Trump.
Kelley stated, "Perhaps, at the conclusion of the day, this song may persuade some undecided individuals to support it." "Perhaps those who do not concur with my message can comprehend that I possess a spine and that I am standing on a ground that I firmly believe in, which makes my stance all the more authentic."
"As an American, I am proud and believe we can restore greatness to our country."
Kelley is expecting backlash but is unbothered by that prospect.
Kelley concluded that she is concerned with empowering those who seek a platform to express themselves.
