Conservative media criticizes Biden's farewell address: 'Put a chill down my spine'
The wealthy tech oligarchy poses a threat to our entire democracy, according to President Biden.
Wednesday night, President Biden delivered one of the "best," "most memorable," and "sober" speeches of his life, according to some liberal media commentators.
Biden concluded his political career, which lasted more than half a century, with his farewell address from the Oval Office.
David Axelrod, a former Obama adviser and CNN commentator, stated that he believes the speech Joe Biden gave was one of the best he has ever heard.
He made a speech about the country he believes in and sees, highlighting the challenges and threats he sees. Despite claiming credit for progress, he emphasized the need for seriousness in overcoming them.
Ashley Etienne, the former communications director for Vice President Kamala Harris, concurred with Axelrod and found the speech "poignant and relevant."
Etienne thought it was wise and appropriate for the president to lay out the threats as they move forward.
On ABC News, Mary Jordan, an associate editor at The Washington Post, praised the speech as "memorable" and "blunt."
""Joe Biden has struggled with the narrative, while Donald Trump has run it," Jordan said."
Tonight, she thought he was unusually clear.
Lester Holt, NBC anchor, was told by Meet the Press host Kristen Welker that the speech was one for history books, in her opinion.
Rachel Maddow on MSNBC emphasized the sections of Biden's speech that highlighted the dangers of a tech monopoly and the press freedom concerns following the removal of fact-checkers.
""I agree with what he said, and it gave me goosebumps," Maddow stated."
Joy Reid concurred that Biden's remarks were necessary and expressed happiness that he made them.
The "worst farewell speech in presidential history" was met with frustration from conservatives, who criticized the speaker's dark warning about the "ultra-wealthy."
Biden stated that he wanted to alert the country about certain matters that caused him great concern. He emphasized the danger of concentrating too much power in the hands of a few ultra-wealthy individuals. If their misuse of power is not addressed, it could lead to severe consequences, Biden warned.
An oligarchy is emerging in America with immense wealth, power, and influence, endangering our democracy. This threatens our fundamental rights, freedoms, and equal opportunities for all.
On January 20th, President-elect Donald Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th president, marking the end of Biden's fifty-year political career.
