Comedian says 'Stockholm Syndrome' with the left has become a 'party of censorship'.
Whitney Cummings believes the Left is not as liberal as it once was, according to her podcast.
Whitney Cummings, a stand-up comic, is frustrated with the left, claiming they have strayed from their values and are attacking those who criticize them for speaking out against liberals.
In her "Good For You" podcast's latest episode, Cummings criticized the political left, arguing that it has become increasingly hypocritical and censorious in recent years.
"Cummings stated, "I considered myself a liberal individual, but I believe the Left has deviated from its liberal ideals. It seems that the Left has transformed into a party that censors.""
The comedian revealed that she felt compelled to address the issues facing her political group.
"It's astonishing to me that if you're on the left and don't criticize your party, how much do you truly care about it? Do you understand what I'm saying? It's like what's happening on the left - I had to say, 'I finally just broke,'" she said.
Cummings stated that she had previously supported the left due to "Stockholm Syndrome," but now realized that "if you love your party, you must be able to criticize it, and I don't take sides."
The comic made a comment about liberal hypocrisy, stating, "You have the right to make choices about your body, but you must take the vaccine, and you can choose your political party, but you have no say in your candidate."
Although I am not an expert on politics, I am an expert on hypocrisy. I have been raised, dated, and can recognize hypocrisy when I see it.
Cummings' statements were driven by criticism from liberal media and the Democratic Party, who criticized her recent comments on CNN's New Year's Eve special, where she mocked the liberal media and the Democratic Party's handling of President Biden and the 2024 election while speaking to hosts Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper.
During her broadcast, she joked that the 3,000-person crowds at her stand-up shows are the same as CNN's audience size, even though she had ripped the network's hosting.
In the podcast, Cummings emphasized that her motivation was to expose hypocrisy, not for the purpose of attacking the left or gaining political points. She stated, "I didn't view it as a political act; rather, I was simply highlighting inconsistencies on all sides."
She defended her decision not to criticize Trump during her New Year's Eve monologue, stating that it was "hacky" to do so and that everyone had already done it. She added that doing it on CNN, which is Trump's home network, would be a "cheap shot" and "hack." She emphasized that there was nothing risky or dangerous about not going after Trump.
