College campuses are criticized by Patricia Heaton for tolerating antisemitism, and she encourages Christians to publicly show support to Jews.
The actress from 'Everybody Loves Raymond' has renewed her collaboration with MyZuzah to motivate Christians globally to assist Jewish individuals.
Patricia Heaton is standing firm in her activism and using her platform as a well-known star to raise awareness about antisemitism in the US, particularly on college campuses, and to encourage Christians to publicly and vocally support Jews worldwide.
The October 7th Coalition (O7C) was established by Heaton to encourage Christian support for Jewish people and Israel's right to exist, as well as to combat antisemitism in the United States.
"Heaton, in a video interview with Planet Chronicle Digital, stated that he grew up very Catholic and has a healthy fear of God. He also expressed his thoughts about facing the Lord and answering for how he used what God gave him in service, particularly to the Jewish people, God's chosen people."
Heaton has collaborated with MyZuzah, an international group, to provide free mezuzahs to Jewish people as part of the #Myzuzah/Yourzuzah campaign since founding the grassroots nonprofit.
The Israel-Hamas war has garnered a significant response, and it seems that this issue will persist for some time, according to Heaton.
The response from Jews worldwide, who felt secure and connected with Christians, motivated Heaton to persist in promoting the movement.
"We need to spread that feeling," she said.
The actress who starred in "Everybody Loves Raymond" expressed disdain for college administrations in America that enable Jewish students to feel their religious rights are being violated by allowing antisemitic acts on campuses.
She told Planet Chronicle Digital that the administration's actions on college campuses have been horrendous, as they are not willing to support Jewish students.
If a campus permits this behavior, they should forfeit their federal funding as they are violating the law.
"The law mandates that individuals have the right to express themselves freely. People from diverse backgrounds and ideologies frequently voice their opinions loudly and forcefully, including students advocating for "Justice in Palestine," and they do so in a highly violent manner. Despite this, there appears to be little opposition to their actions."
Heaton is urging university students to buy and display a Solidarity Mezuzah on their door frames, which features a yellow ribbon symbolizing the safe return of Israeli hostages who were abducted on October 7, 2023, and have been held captive in Gaza for over 365 days.
By filming a video of themselves hanging the mezuzah, tagging Heaton in the social media post, and using the hashtags #MyZuzahYourZuzah and #SpartacusMoment, Christians can demonstrate their support.
She told Planet Chronicle Digital that when everyone has them on their door, it sends the message that we won't tolerate it.
On Oct. 7, 2023, amid the terror attacks on Israeli civilians, Heaton watched in horror as Hamas terrorists "gleefully" captured, abused, and violated Israeli men, women, and children and shared their war crimes on social media.
"She was taken aback by the shocking nature of the situation. She recalled thinking, "This is going to cause outrage, almost like a George Floyd uprising, because it's so incredibly and insanely horrifying," but did not see any response."
Heaton was inspired to respond to the lack of outrage among Hollywood elites and churches, so she connected Jews and Christians in Nashville, south of Miami, Los Angeles, and Dallas. Since then, she has received calls from Jewish federations worldwide, hoping to work with her to bring people together.
"Heaton stated, "I'm unsure why it impacted me so deeply and not others, as I believe people were horrified but view it as a distant event with no connection to us.""
Heaton was surprised by the lack of Jewish support from celebrities in Hollywood.
"Hollywood was the first to respond to every other movement or event that caused a national response, according to Heaton. Heaton also stated that, given the large number of Jewish coworkers in Hollywood, he expected them to rally around their Jewish friends in the industry."
At the 2024 Academy Awards, anti-Israel red hand pins were worn by prominent members of the entertainment industry, drawing attention from Heaton.
According to Anne Bayefsky, president of Human Rights Voices and director of the Touro Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust, the pins are a symbol of "brutality and human depravity."
"Heaton told Planet Chronicle Digital, "I was stunned. I thought, 'Are they that stupid?' I hope it's that they're really stupid, because then you can forgive them for not understanding what that means. If they know what it means and wear that pin, then they're evil. They're evil. So, I hope they're just stupid.""
