CNN anchor and Rep. Waltz disagree on labeling Harris as a socialist, while networks compare Trump to Hitler.
According to Waltz, individuals were using this network to refer to Trump as Hitler, as reported by CNN's John Berman.
On Tuesday morning, CNN anchor John Berman and Rep. Mike Waltz, R-Fla., had a heated discussion about the use of politically charged terms such as "fascist" and "socialist" to describe the two presidential candidates.
During a recent rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, Vice President Kamala Harris showcased a medley of clips featuring Trump's warnings about threats from "the enemy within."
Trump stated that the most dangerous enemies are those from within, rather than Russia and China. These individuals should be imprisoned for their disrespectful comments about our judges and justices.
Trump discussed his views on "enemies" in a recent interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business, stating that while China and Russia can be difficult to deal with at times, the real challenge lies in dealing with "lunatics" like Adam Schiff within his own country.
Currently, Steve Garvey, a retired MLB star from Burbank, Calif., is being challenged by Congressman Schiff for the U.S. Senate seat.
In an interview on "CNN News Central," Berman queried Waltz about the responsibility of Trump's comments.
Trump's statements about issues that are "harmful" to democracy in the United States and erode public trust in institutions, as claimed by Waltz, include accusations against Schiff, a senior House Intelligence Committee member, of leaking information from classified hearings and lying to the public in public hearings.
Berman referenced the "lunatic" comment directed at Schiff and suggested that Trump was also talking about dealing with "lunatics" in a hypothetical military deployment.
Waltz stated that John was being referred to as Hitler and a dictator by people on the network, and two individuals had attempted to assassinate him. Furthermore, the Iranians were attempting to kill him, and he was being discussed in relation to playing music at a rally.
While acknowledging the importance of discussing heated rhetoric aimed at Trump, Waltz has suggested that Harris is a "socialist," as he himself has stated.
"So, these phrases do get tossed around," Berman added.
Waltz argued that socialism is a distinct political ideology and not the same as asserting that Trump would be the worst dictator in history or Hitler. Furthermore, he claimed that such extreme language was causing people to become more radical and take action.
Some members of Congress have called themselves "democratic socialists" and argued that Berman's comparison was not fair.
""Do you believe Kamala Harris is a Marxist or a socialist?" inquired Berman."
Waltz stated that he thinks Marxism is "founding" some of Harris' policies, including price controls.
Berman attempted to make a comparison between Waltz's remarks about Harris and Milley's comments about Trump.
According to a new book by journalist Bob Woodward, Milley reportedly stated, "No one has ever been as dangerous to this country as Donald Trump... Now I realize he's a total fascist. He is the most dangerous person to this country."
"Berman stated that Donald Trump's policies align with fascist ideology, which is a political ideology."
