The Osundairo brothers, who have confessed to assisting Jussie Smollett in staging a publicity stunt, reacted to a recent court ruling regarding the actor on Planet Chronicle.

The Illinois Supreme Court reversed Jussie Smollett's hate crime conviction on Thursday. In 2019, Smollett garnered significant media attention after claiming to be the victim of a racist and homophobic attack by two masked men in January 2019.

"Jussie never admitted guilt, which initially took us back, not because of the Supreme Court's decision, but because he has due process rights and double jeopardy should not be and is not allowed in America."

"The true injustice in this case was the favorable treatment that Smollett received from Kim Foxx's office at the start of the investigation," Olabinjo stated.

The Illinois Supreme Court ruled that the special prosecutor's decision to retry Smollett on charges violated his rights after Smollett was convicted on five felony counts and sentenced to 150 days in county jail following a new inquiry requested by Kim Foxx.

"Jussie secured that deal due to his influence and power, according to Abimbola. This highlights the divide between citizens in America, with those in power enjoying privileges while others do not. As a result, he received a favorable deal."

The brothers stated that they had not received the full payment promised by Smollett, despite not participating in the hoax for monetary gain.

"Abimbola stated that it was not about the money, but rather about assisting a friend."
