Border Czar Warns Mayors of Sanctuary Cities: "Get Out of the Way" or Face Prosecution
The border czar issued a warning to defiant leaders: 'Do not challenge us!'
Local leaders will face justice if they defy President-elect Donald Trump's mass deportation effort, as warned by his new border czar.
Blue state democratic leaders have vowed to resist the Trump administration's plan to deport illegal immigrants. Boston's city council has unanimously decided to intensify efforts to hinder Trump's mass deportation plans. Democratic mayors and governors, including those from Boston, Denver, Massachusetts, and Arizona, are leading the charge against Trump's immigration policies.
Dr. Phil spoke with Tom Homan, the former acting ICE director and Trump's border czar pick, who revealed his readiness for a showdown and detailed his plan for changes that will occur when Trump assumes office.
"First, we'll secure the border. Second, we'll conduct a deportation operation. Lastly, we'll locate the 300,000 children and find them too," the president stated to the talk show host. "President Trump has made it clear that our top priority is to ensure public safety and national security because they pose the greatest threat to our nation."
The new border czar stated that on the first day, they will focus on identifying and removing public safety threats, including arresting, detaining, and deporting them. If Sanctuary City mayors refuse to cooperate, they will be forced to get out of the way as the border czar and their team will take action.
In the future, Homan emphasized that lawmakers must become acquainted with the legal text that states that intentionally concealing or harboring an illegal alien from a police officer is a felony. Additionally, impeding a federal law enforcement officer is also a felony, so it is crucial not to cross that line. A new strong Attorney General, Pam Bondi, will present these prosecutions, so it is important not to test their resolve.
He stressed that sanctuary cities "serve as havens for criminals only" and that by resisting efforts to remove criminal illegal migrants, "by erecting barriers and being a sanctuary city, they will inadvertently bring more ICE officers to their communities."
The best course of action for illegal immigrant criminals who have been arrested by local law enforcement is to be handed over to ICE for removal from both the community and the country, according to his argument.
"Protect American citizens and the immigrant community, and identify the bad guy," he stated.
