Black Lives Matter activist announces support for Donald Trump over Kamala Harris.
Mark Fisher, co-founder of Black Lives Matter Rhode Island, stated that for a long time, people have been blindly loyal to the Democrat Party without any justification.
On the eve of Election Day, a Black Lives Matter activist criticized Vice President Kamala Harris and announced that he would vote for former President Donald Trump.
Mark Fisher, co-founder of BLM Rhode Island, stated in an interview with The New York Post on Monday that Kamala Harris would use anything to her advantage and he would not support her if she ever got close to power, as it would be disastrous for the country.
Three years ago, Fisher spearheaded the BLM Rhode Island's campaign to urge Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse to resign or cut ties with an all-White and exclusive Newport Beach club.
Fisher elaborated to the New York Post that traditionally, Black people have mostly voted for the Democratic Party, but they have not received anything in return. He pointed out the poor living conditions in Black communities, including high poverty, crime, and failing education systems.
In 2020, the "lifelong Democrat" voted for President Biden, but now he "regrets" his decision.
For years, we've been unquestioningly devoted to the Democrat Party without any justification, according to Fisher's statement to The New York Post.
He added, "They have given us no reason to remain loyal to them."
In November 2023, Fisher first supported the GOP presidential candidate and stated on Planet Chronicle that "the Democratic Party does not represent us."
The BLM national organization and the BLM Rhode Island PAC have disavowed Fisher, branding him a fraudulent activist and his endorsement as a publicity stunt.
Fisher confirmed that he is a co-founder of Black Lives Matter Rhode Island, a different entity from the BLM Rhode Island PAC.
The BLM national organization and the BLM Rhode Island PAC made it clear that they do not endorse Trump and that anyone can establish a BLM chapter.
The left-wing organization criticized the selection of Harris as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee and urged the Democratic National Convention to conduct a primary process to choose a candidate.
Fisher currently leads a Maryland-based organization called "BLM INCORPORATED."
BLM INCORPORATED aims to provide "entrepreneurship education" and "financial empowerment" to the Black community through its website.
They recently established a Black Legacy & Resource Library and Business & Innovation Center in Maryland, which they referred to as a "Black Lives Matter educational centerpiece."
