During his remarks on the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires Thursday, President Biden made a "disgusting" joke.

Biden met with top government officials to discuss the federal response to the ongoing Palisades Pacific wildfires, which have led to the displacement of thousands of Californians and the destruction of thousands of homes and structures.

Biden handed the stage to Vice President Harris, who is from California, and made a quip after discussing the federal government's plan to aid local officials during the disaster.

"Madam Vice President, I understand you're personally impacted. Therefore, you can express yourself freely, without any intention of causing harm," Biden stated.

X users were quickly shocked by the comment and began blasting the president.

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS DUDE," Redstate writer Bonchie exclaimed.

"Is empathy present in the room with you now?" Kevin McMahon, Townhall.com video editor, wrote.

Derek Hunter, a Townhall.com columnist, stated that while Joe Biden is typically a cruel and vindictive individual, in this particular instance, his senility may be to blame.

Stephen Miller, a contributing editor at The Spectator, stated, "Even Kamala at this point is like 'You serious dude?'"

"Completely tone deaf," Libs of TikTok wrote.

"What a jerk," Conservative commentator Steve Guest said.

Ben Kew, a conservative writer, stated, "It's not the best moment to use wordplay."

In the briefing, Biden declared that the federal government will fully cover the expenses of disaster response for the next 180 days.

"The federal government will allocate funds for debris and hazard material removal, temporary shelters, first responders' salaries, and safety measures to protect life and property, as stated by the official. He emphasized the need for no expense to be spared and assured that everything possible is being done at the federal level."

During a meeting with California Gov. Gavin Newsom and firefighter officials, Biden had already faced criticism the previous day.

Biden announced the birth of his first great-grandson after signing a disaster declaration and expressing his support for the state.

"As of today, I am a great-grandfather," Biden stated.

In 2023, Biden faced criticism for a joke he made regarding the wildfires in Maui that resulted in over 100 deaths.

Before delivering a speech, Biden greeted a group of officials and petted a search and rescue dog. While doing so, he joked about the boots the dog was wearing.

"Did you guys catch the boots out here? Biden seemed to ask the press, smiling and saying, "That's some hot ground, man.""
