Biden's bumbling rendition of Happy Birthday sparks laughter: "The most Joe Biden thing ever"
Eliseo Jimenez's name was forgotten by President Biden less than a minute after it was mentioned.
A viral video of President Biden's fumble while singing "Happy Birthday" to a White House guest spread across social media, causing another embarrassing gaffe.
On Sunday, at a ceremony commemorating the enactment of the Social Security Fairness Act, Biden tried to serenade 17-year-old Eliseo Jimenez with "Happy Birthday." Jimenez gained national recognition for his 2,400-mile journey from Lubbock, Texas, to Washington, D.C., where he advocated for Social Security reform.
Biden joked that Eliseo was "just around the corner" from receiving Social Security before announcing that Jimenez's birthday was the next day.
Biden stumbled while singing "Happy Birthday" and mumbled "dear Eliseo" instead of his own name, causing Jimenez to laugh.
Biden's latest verbal error has fueled skepticism about his mental acuity and made his defenders appear less credible.
This latest incident's footage became viral, with many of Biden's critics making jokes about him and looking forward to the end of his presidency.
"During his birthday celebration, Biden mistakenly forgot the name of the person he invited to sing him happy birthday and ended up mumbling incoherent words," comedian and podcaster Tim Young remarked. "Just 15 more days of this..."
Kyle Lamb, an economic analyst and former DeSantis staffer, joked that Biden's performance is like "me when I'm in the car and after the chorus, the second verse begins and I'm trying to confidently assure myself I know the lyrics."
Stephen L. Miller, a contributing editor at The Spectator, made a similar comparison, stating that Biden's rendition is like "me every time the restaurant starts singing to the stupid kid."
Jon Miltimore, senior editor at the American Institute for Economic Research, joked that this is the most "Joe Biden thing ever."
Drew Holden, managing editor of American Compass, stated, "It's terrifying to contemplate the aftermath of Biden's cognitive decline, which will only be exposed after he leaves the public stage. The world's most powerful leader's brain is not functioning properly. Those who wish us harm are fully aware of this."
The ongoing mental deterioration of the President of the United States is the biggest media story in the universe, according to him.
"Podcast host Shawn Farash stated that "He definitely did not remember his name and just mumbled through it," before implying that Biden's supporters once referred to the video as a "Cheap Fake.""
This is not the first time Biden forgot someone's name while singing "Happy Birthday" to them.
In January 2023, during the National Action Network's annual Martin Luther King Jr. birthday breakfast, the president accidentally mispronounced Arndrea Waters King's name while singing her a birthday song.
He stated that his wife follows a rule in their family, where on someone's birthday, they must sing "Happy Birthday." Afterward, he began singing to the wife of Martin Luther King III, the civil rights leader's eldest son.
Biden seemed to forget King's name in the final verse of the song and quickly moved on. He began the song with the audience joining in, but when he reached the part with her name, he appeared to say "Happy Birthday, dear Valen," trailing off.
He joked, "Turning 30 is tough, but you've got to endure it."
