Biden criticizes Trump for impeding a smooth transition, accuses him of obstructing the process.
During an interview with Hugh Hewitt, President-elect Donald Trump criticized President Biden's last-minute policy decisions on Monday and accused the president of making a "smooth transition" more difficult.
"I see that Biden has banned all oil and gas drilling across 625 million acres of US coastal territory. It's just ridiculous, I'll immediately un-ban it, I have the right to do so, and I'll expand it even more. What's he doing? Why is he doing it?" Trump said. "We have something that nobody else has to the extent we have it, and it'll be more by the time we finish, because I'll be able to expand."
On Monday, Biden declared a plan to safeguard offshore regions along the East and West coasts, the eastern Gulf of Mexico, and parts of Alaska's Northern Bering Sea from future oil and natural gas leasing using his executive authority.
Trump stated to Hewitt that the US possesses an abundance of oil and gas, which sets it apart from other countries. He emphasized that they will utilize this resource to their advantage. Trump argued that anyone who claims to ban 625 million acres of land does not understand the magnitude of this action and its impact on the country. He considered this resource as the country's greatest economic asset and vowed not to let it be taken away.
"Trump stated, "You're relinquishing our greatest assets, which is 625 million acres, if you haven't examined it on a map. However, I can modify it promptly, and it will be altered on day one.""
The president-elect criticized Biden's presidential medal of freedom recipients, particularly George Soros, a Democratic mega-donor.
Biden's administration was making it difficult for Trump.
Trump argued that Biden was making a difficult transition by throwing money at people through the Green New Deal, which he deemed worthless.
