Biden criticized Trump for not displaying the same level of "decency" as Carter.

Conservatives online were not pleased with President Biden's criticism of President-elect Donald Trump, stating that he could learn about "decency" from the late Jimmy Carter.
Carter, the longest-living American president in history, passed away on Sunday at the age of 100. Biden advised Trump to learn from Carter's legacy of decency when asked by a reporter.
""Jimmy Carter would never walk by someone who needed something and just keep walking, nor would he refer to someone by the way they look or the way they talk," Biden said."
Among those who criticized Biden's comments was Hugh Hewitt, a radio host and former Washington Post writer.
"Is it 'decent' to have deceived the American public for years about your condition and to do so via a complicit and complacent legacy media?" Hewitt wrote on X. "The greatest cover-up in modern American political history, and the greatest media scandal as well, remains unacknowledged on the record by anyone around President Biden and by almost all legacy media figures. Despite their enormous sunk costs, they refuse to cut them loose and own the cover-up or the complicity."
Carter's younger brother Billy was investigated for his business ties with Libya during his presidency, while Biden has been criticized for breaking his promise not to pardon his son Hunter.
Biden lied for years and then pardoned his own son after repeatedly denying that he would ever do so during the campaign. He pardoned his son for any crimes committed over a ten-year period, including potential crimes that many believe implicated the President himself in the multimillion influence-peddling operation.
"Joe Pagliarulo, a radio host, wrote that Biden is one of the most indecent people to ever be near the White House. He is a garbage human who enriched himself and his family through influence. It is ironic and hypocritical to hear him speak about decency."
"Jimmy Carter's legacy, both during and after his presidency, was not positive. However, Joe Biden referred to Carter as 'decent' before attacking Trump. This shows a lack of integrity on Biden's part."
TenNapel, an animator, criticized Biden's comments, claiming he had harmed the country with his "inappropriate" presidency and would have been more suited for a job at a gas station.
He wrote that he hoped he found faith, as it is not only his salvation but also ours. Being decent is not enough for him or anyone else.
Carter and Trump had disagreements prior to and during Trump's presidency, but Trump honored Carter on Truth Social by expressing gratitude for his service.
"As former Presidents, we understand the immense responsibility of leading the Greatest Nation in History. We can relate to the challenges faced by Jimmy, who made significant efforts to enhance the lives of all Americans. For this, we owe him a debt of gratitude."
Trump acknowledged that Carter deeply loved and respected the US despite their philosophical and political differences.
Carter, who served as governor of Georgia and later became the first former president to reach 100 years old in October, was elected president in 1976 but lost his re-election bid to Ronald Reagan in 1980. His wife, former first lady Rosalynn Carter, passed away last year.
