Biden and Harris have been accused of lying by a former adviser, prompting a heated debate on CNN.

On Wednesday, CNN political commentator Scott Jennings criticized former Biden aide Ashley Etienne for commending President Biden's emphasis on misinformation in his farewell address, implying that the president had also spread falsehoods during his tenure.

I knew then that Donald Trump's main focus was to undermine truth. The entire campaign trail was filled with lies about what he had accomplished and what he planned to do. The campaign was essentially built on lies, and the president's Oval Office address was a warning about the importance of addressing the issue of mis and disinformation.

Biden's Wednesday night speech emphasized the dangers of an "oligarchy" in America and warned against Meta's recent decision to eliminate its fact-checking system.

"Have Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, or Karine Jean-Pierre ever lied?" Jennings inquired, to which Etienne responded, "I'm not sure, what are you implying? I know where you're heading with this."

Jennings stated that Biden's speech is centered on the truth, but one thing that has consistently frustrated Republicans is Biden's tendency to emphasize his role as the restorer of the nation's soul while simultaneously undermining this message through his own actions, such as the massive cover-up of his own health condition.

According to Etienne, President-elect Donald Trump repeatedly lied to the American public about COVID-19, resulting in over 500,000 deaths, which Jennings disagreed with before the break for commercial.

During his speech on Wednesday, Biden stated that Americans were being overwhelmed by a flood of false information, which allowed the misuse of power.

"Biden stated that social media is abandoning fact-checking, allowing the truth to be buried beneath falsehoods spread for power and financial gain."

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, announced last week that he would be ending the Meta fact-checking program and lifting restrictions on speech to "restore free expression" across Facebook, Instagram and Meta platforms, acknowledging that the current content moderation practices have "gone too far."
