Babysitter goes viral after receiving a chore list from Mom's toddler.
Household chores are being creatively tackled by parents who are sharing their methods on TikTok.
A Missouri mom's method for completing household tasks while also enjoying a date night has sparked excitement on the internet.
Katrina Ivan, an eighth grade science teacher and small business owner from Kansas City, shared on TikTok how she rewards her son's babysitter with extra money.
Ivan and her husband were preparing for a romantic evening, but she knew that chores were accumulating and the house was messier than usual. While writing a note to her son's sitter, Ivan suggested a few optional chores, each with a specific dollar amount.

"Ivan explained to Planet Chronicle Digital, "I said, 'Here's what needs to be done,' and I assigned monetary values to each chore. The sitter was on board.""
Over one million people have viewed Ivan's note on TikTok, which adheres to the honor system.
Please inform me if you have carried out any of these tasks, and the total amount I owe you in addition to the babysitting money, Ivan stated to the babysitter.
The cost of cleaning the kitchen floor was $10, while the cost of cleaning the refrigerator was $15.
Ivan, a former student of Rice's, offered her the chance to earn more money by babysitting his child while she sleeps. Rice, who is 18 and a high school student, has been babysitting for her family for years. Ivan wanted to give her the opportunity to take home more money as she prepares to enroll in a firefighter program upon graduation.
"Ivan told Planet Chronicle Digital that he heard the Ring Doorbell ring after they left their neighborhood. While they were barely out of their neighborhood, Ivan's wife was cleaning the front door. He was surprised because she seemed to really enjoy the task and started on it immediately. In the end, she made a lot of money."
The idea of paying babysitters extra for completing chores has sparked conversation online, with viewers discussing various aspects such as the amount Ivan offered for each task.
One TikToker remarked that $10 is too inexpensive for certain tasks given the magnitude of the work and the size of the mess.
Another person responded, "I'd love to receive this offer, especially if the children are sleeping."
Ivan posted photos of her home on TikTok along with a note about the stress parents may be feeling, in an attempt to initiate a discussion.
"Ivan stated that there are not many individuals showcasing the worst aspects of their homes on TikTok. He observed that creators often present perfect homes, but behind the scenes, there is clutter and mess. Ivan shared that he took the messiest parts of his house and showcased them on the platform."
A 2022 study by The Ohio State University found that 66% of working parents with children experience burnout from parenting. Ivan aims to promote asking for help while offering an incentive to those around her, hoping to inspire other parents to do the same.
"Instead of drowning, why not reach up for life support? TikTok is becoming a popular platform for people who need a village and don't have one."
