At a New Year's party, Trump and Musk became internet sensations with their performance of the "Trump dance" at the YMCA.
Elon Musk was present at Mar-a-Lago with Trump during the New Year's Eve celebration in 2025.
On Tuesday night, a video of President-elect Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk performing the "Trump dance" together while celebrating the new year went viral.
At Mar-a-Lago, Trump, Musk, and Melania Trump were seen dancing to "YMCA" by the Village People, with Trump doing his signature arm-pumping routine.
The simplicity of Trump's dancing at rallies has made it a hit with supporters and has been emulated by athletes in various sports.
The video of men in tuxes dancing at the end of a successful year for Trump was well-received by his supporters online. Additionally, the clip served as a reminder that Musk, who continues to influence Trump and is the wealthiest person in the world, remains close to the president-elect.
Recently, Trump aligned himself with Musk during a dispute among the MAGA base regarding immigration and the role of foreign workers in the U.S. job market.
Last month, Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who have been appointed by Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), contended that American culture has not given sufficient priority to education, hence foreign workers are necessary for tech companies such as SpaceX and Tesla.
While many tech companies utilize the H-1B visa program to hire foreign workers in specialized fields, critics argue that H-1B visa holders are frequently preferred over American citizens for job opportunities.
Trump stated that he supported the program and had consistently advocated for the visas.
On Monday, Hogan Gidley, a former White House aide, stated on Planet Chronicle that the report about Trump's irritation with Musk's constant presence and headline-making was a non-story.
"Gidley stated that it is evident that Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and others maintain good relationships with Donald Trump. The media often attempts to provoke conflict and create divisions where none exist."
On Tuesday night, Trump made a prediction to reporters at Mar-a-Lago that 2025 would be a "great year."
"I believe we will excel as a nation," he stated. "We will restore it. It must be restored. Our country is not respected much, and it will be respected greatly. I believe significant advancements have been made in the past five weeks. It's been truly remarkable. There's a bright future ahead for us, not just our country. Many people are happy."
He stated that his New Year's resolution for 2025 was simply for everyone to be content, in good health, and thriving.
