Anti-Trump commentator concedes that Biden's pardon of Hunter is merely deflating.
On Sunday, President Biden declared that he would grant a pardon to his son Hunter.
On MSNBC Sunday night, former Congressman Joe Walsh, who frequently criticizes President-elect Donald Trump, voiced his opposition to President Biden's decision to grant a pardon to his son Hunter Biden.
Walsh stated that the pardon was "deflating" when asked about it.
"For those of us who have been out there for a few years now yelling about what a unique threat Donald Trump is, for Joe Biden to do something like this: nobody's above the law, we've been screaming," Walsh said.
"Joe Biden stated that his son Hunter is beyond legal jurisdiction," he said.
According to Walsh, "Donald Trump consistently lies and his team has been vocal about it. Biden has also lied about this. The politicization of the justice system is a concern that both Trump and his supporters have been vocal about. Biden has acknowledged this in his statement."
On Sunday night, the White House announced that President Biden would be granting a pardon to his son for any offenses against the U.S. that he may have committed between January 1, 2014 and December 1, 2024.
In September, Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to all nine federal text charges brought against him by special counsel David Weiss.
In a Los Angeles court, U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi informed Hunter that he could receive a maximum of 17 years in prison and a fine of $1 million prior to entering his pleas.
Trump previously predicted that Biden would pardon his son, but he responded directly to the president's announcement on Sunday.
"Joe granted a pardon to Hunter, but did not include the J-6 Hostages, who have been imprisoned for years, in it. Trump called it an abuse and miscarriage of justice on Truth Social."
