An ABC insider reports that 'The View' will not alter its course despite Trump's victory.
An ABC talk show features only voices critical of Trump.
Since President-elect Donald Trump's victory, "The View" has been the subject of extensive media attention, prompting critics to question whether the ABC daytime talk show, which features only anti-Trump voices, will alter its course.
One insider tells Planet Chronicle Digital that's not happening.
The hosts of "The View," including Republicans Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin, were unanimous in their disappointment over Trump's defeat of Vice President Kamala Harris.
Recent reports have suggested that questions about the representation of the network and its attempts to find pro-Trump voices have been a topic of discussion. However, a well-placed source at ABC has stated that these claims are not accurate.
"The ABC employee stated that there is a strong network-wide push and sense of responsibility to give a voice to the 75 million people who voted for Trump. However, "The View" did not have a pro-Trump voice for the entirety of his first presidency. Meghan McCain and Abby Huntsman, both loyal conservatives, did not personally support Trump. This is also the case this time around."
They added that Trump officials may be invited in 2025.
Meghan McCain and Abby Huntsman served as co-hosts on the show from 2017 to 2021. While both women were daughters of prominent GOP politicians, neither of them ever supported Trump. Despite this, McCain often disagreed with her liberal co-hosts on conservative issues.
ABC News has been criticized by McCain for not having a pro-Trump voice on "The View" after the president-elect won the popular vote.
McCain stated on Planet Chronicle Digital that if an entire panel voted for Kamala Harris, it does not accurately represent America.
""Conservative women in America are looking to a specific voice to represent them, and it's clear that ABC News has given up on the idea that conservative women exist. The Trump administration is expected to have no trust or access to a network that doesn't care enough about their voters to make sure they are represented on their women's daytime show," she added."
She elaborated that she finds the show intolerant to conservatives.
"The hosts of the show disrespect and find conservative people, especially conservative women, unacceptable traitors to their gender," she stated. "As a result, they make the show so hostile that people don't want to be there. I believe this is another reason why conservative women aren't on the show because the hosts wouldn't be able to handle it. And trust me, I have personal experience with this."
ABC News did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment, but issued a statement refuting a New York Post report about its ratings and the success of its current panel.
The ABC spokesperson stated that The View, which features a diverse panel of women with varying perspectives, has recently experienced its highest rated episode in over a decade and hit a 4-year high in total viewers.
After McCain's departure in July 2021, ABC News underwent a rigorous selection process to find a conservative to join the liberal hosts, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Sara Haines. In August 2022, the network ultimately chose Navarro and Griffin, both anti-Trump Republicans.
Navarro and Griffin often aligned themselves with the liberal opposition to Trump and his supporters in the GOP, while also supporting Harris. Unlike McCain, they did not frequently engage in policy debates. Navarro even hosted a night of the Democratic National Convention and worked on Biden's campaign's outreach to Latinos in Florida in 2020.
