Alopecia sufferer mom reacts to liberal women shaving heads to be 'unattractive' following Donald Trump's election.
A woman with alopecia gained popularity on TikTok for criticizing liberal women who supported the 4B movement after Trump's election victory.
A mother of three with alopecia gained viral attention on social media after criticizing the decision of liberal women to shave their heads as a form of protest against the 2024 presidential election results.
After President-elect Donald Trump's victory over Vice President Kamala Harris, many of her supporters embraced the ideology of the 4B movement, which originated in South Korea and aimed to address gender inequality, pay disparity, and violence against women.
"Jessica Yang, a mother from Dallas, Texas, shared with Planet Chronicle Digital during a video interview that she felt a surge of emotions related to her alopecia when she heard others say they were shaving their heads to be unattractive."
Women are joining forces to reject heterosexual relationships, dating, marriage, and childbirth for the next four years.
As she logged onto TikTok in the middle of the night, Yang was met with nothing but bare-scalped videos, which she learned were a show of feminist camaraderie.
Yang stated that there was a video of a mom advising on how to motivate your young daughter to shave her head.
Yang, originally from Oklahoma, had had enough of watching videos of women urging one another to adopt less attractive looks for men. So, she decided to create her own video.
""Like me, many people have lost their hair and it has been devastating," Yang said in the viral video."
""You claim to be caring and kind, but you're not realizing that you're triggering people with cancer who have lost their hair," she said."
The video rapidly gained popularity and has accumulated 2.8 million views and 16,000 comments on TikTok.
"One social media user thanked Yang, commenting, 'My wife has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy, and she looks stunningly bald.'"
Another user shared that they understood Yang's pain, as they too had lost their spouse to breast cancer at the age of 32. They added that their spouse had been deeply affected by their hair loss.
"She was so beautiful," he wrote. "You are too. I miss her. They don't have a clue."
Most of the videos featuring liberal women using shears and razors on social media have been deleted.
"This morning, a woman in a TikTok video shared that she woke up feeling spicy and then proceeded to shave her head. She also expressed that she has given up on America and coloring her hair, and used profanity to express her frustration with societal expectations around beauty and body image."
"She addressed the women who had internalized misogyny and were scared of a woman in power, choosing to align themselves with white men in the hopes of receiving crumbs from their power."
""We should not be doing that, especially if we want our youth to be kind," Yang stated."
Yang stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that her response to the video was not to discourage liberal women from reacting to the election outcome, despite not identifying with the movement or sharing the same views on the results.
"Can we keep the blue bracelets instead of making them bald and unattractive?"
Pocahontas' long and flowy hair was compared to the hair Yang has lost, as she stated she is Native American.
"It hurt because I already feel very unattractive," Yang said.
Yang, as an adult woman, believes she can move past the insensitivity, but she worries about children with cancer who may be exposed to inappropriate remarks.
""Mothers with chemo are losing their hair while still performing motherhood duties, and people with alopecia, like me, also face challenges," Yang stated."
