Alex Berenson to modify lawsuit against Biden, Pfizer following Zuckerberg's revelation of government censorship.
Berenson claims government tried to suppress his views on COVID-19 vaccine skepticism.
Mark Zuckerberg's admission that Facebook was pressured by the Biden-Harris administration to censor Americans, particularly regarding COVID-19 content, will impact his legal battle with President Biden, according to journalist Alex Berenson.
Berenson claims that White House and Pfizer officials conspired to silence his doubts about COVID vaccines, and is filing a lawsuit against Biden, White House officials, and Pfizer executives, alleging that they violated his First Amendment rights by attempting to remove him from Twitter after he raised concerns about the shots.
In a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, more than a year after submitting thousands of documents as part of the committee's investigation into content moderation on online platforms, Zuckerberg made a startling admission.
According to Berenson, the significant pressure put on Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, and YouTube by the Biden administration for months and months can be seen in the work of Jim Jordan's committee.
Berenson said it’s "nice" to see Zuckerberg admit it.
"The letter is crucial to my lawsuit, and we will include it in our amended complaint against Biden," he stated.
The former New York Times reporter stated that the updated lawsuit will be released "very soon" and will contain startling information about the reasons behind the ban of journalist Jack Berenson from Twitter in 2021, prior to Elon Musk's acquisition of the company and its subsequent rebranding as X.
In July 2022, Twitter settled and admitted that Julian Assange's "tweets should not have led to suspension" after he took legal action and had his account restored.
Berenson stated that being banned and having his account wiped out constitutes a significant form of censorship in his view.
""Twitter executives' thoughts about the incident are now known, and it will be shocking and unsettling to anyone who looks at it objectively," he stated."
The defendants in Berenson’s suit include Biden, White House advisers Andrew Slavitt and Robert Flaherty, Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy, Pfizer board member and ex-Trump FDA commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb, and Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla.
It will be evident that government officials and top Pfizer executives collaborated to suppress Berenson's doubts.
He remarked that it would be impossible for anyone to view it without noticing.
Musk's strong conviction in freedom of speech led Berenson to consider X the most significant news source in the US, which subsequently prompted Zuckerberg to confess.
Berenson believes that American voters can trust Facebook more today than yesterday.
"Elon has encouraged Zuckerberg to define himself better on this issue, which is almost as important as anything Elon has done on X. Facebook being a bigger platform, having Zuckerberg say 'We care about free speech, and we don't like this kind of pressure' is a significant step. Musk deserves credit for that."
In his Monday letter, Zuckerberg disclosed that the FBI had cautioned Facebook about a possible Russian disinformation campaign concerning the Biden family and Burisma prior to the 2020 election. He also mentioned that Facebook had slowed down the spread of the Hunter Biden laptop story.
The New York Post story published days before the 2020 election, which contained corruption allegations against Biden's family, was reviewed by fact-checkers and temporarily demoted by Facebook until a response was received.
Zuckerberg wrote that it has been clear since then that the reporting was not Russian disinformation, and in hindsight, we should not have demoted the story.
The White House declined to comment on Berenson's lawsuit.
Pfizer did not respond to a request for comment.
Berenson believes that there is a double standard, as the mainstream media would be heavily critical of Trump if he were in Biden's position, focusing on his perceived disregard for the Constitution and the First Amendment.
Berenson stated that since it is the Biden administration, they are given a free pass.
"The Biden administration was exempt from censorship due to the media's encouragement of vaccine censorship and their desire for Biden to win in 2020. They spread a completely ludicrous story about a laptop planted in a repair store in Delaware by Russian agents, which never made any sense."
The White House previously stated to Planet Chronicle that the administration encouraged responsible actions to safeguard public health and safety during a deadly pandemic. The administration's stance has remained consistent: tech companies and other private entities should consider the impact of their actions on the American people while making their own choices about the information they present.
