Jen Psaki and Elizabeth Warren expressed concern about Trump's rhetoric after surviving two assassination attempts in two months.

On Monday, Warren was a guest on MSNBC's "Inside With Jen Psaki" to discuss Trump's recent comments about his supporters "fighting" after nearly being assassinated twice, the second attempt occurring just a day before their conversation.

"The host told Warren that they heard the chant "fight, fight, fight" after the shooting in Butler and saw it again on TRUTH Social, which made them a little scared."

Psaki and Warren on MSNBC
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and MSNBC host Jen Psaki recently discussed how former President Trump's push to rally his supporters following the attempts on his life is "scary."

Psaki mentioned Trump's response to the first assassination attempt against him at a Pennsylvania rally in July, where he quickly stood up after being shot in the ear and urged his supporters to "fight, fight, fight."

On the day following the second attempt on his life, Trump posted a campaign ad on his TRUTH Social account with the caption "FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!!!", referring to his rally in Pennsylvania.

Psaki and Warren both agreed that Trump's rhetoric was frightening. While Psaki acknowledged that she had used the term "fight" in political rhetoric, she emphasized that her use was not an allusion to violence, unlike Trump's.

"She started by saying, "I am a fighter, and I have written books about fighting, including 'You Don’t Get What You Don’t Fight For' and 'This Fight is Our Fight'.""

She continued, "However, I mean fighting with words. This simply implies going back and forth with our words in a democracy. We must be able to disagree and present our issues to the American people. This is how we inform the public about our positions. This is how we make decisions that the majority of Americans want. It is only through discussing these matters that we can come to a decision."

She argued that Trump doesn't receive the same benefit of the doubt as a man who incited an insurrection, referred to political rivals as vermin, and recently stated that he wants to lock up those who disagree with him.

The progressive lawmaker stated that the approach being taken is not just different in politics but also in democracy, and it ultimately puts our democracy at risk, putting everyone at risk.

Warren emphasized the need for both Trump and Vice President Harris to be protected, while also reminding people not to forget about Trump's policies during the attempts on his life.

White House says it will continue to call Trump a ‘threat’ after Jan. 6

"To allow for discussion and decision-making, we must keep this open. Would you prefer a candidate who supports a nationwide abortion ban and is willing to lie about it to maintain popularity, or one who would veto such a ban?" she asked.

Warren stated, "He will continue to wink and nod at extremist groups or would you prefer someone who directly states, 'Give me a chance, like Kamala Harris, and I will enact laws protecting access to abortion and IVF'?"
