According to a report by the New York Times, it is alleged that Biden utilized teleprompters during small fundraisers held in private homes, causing concern among donors.
After a series of speech gaffes, the report is finally released.
A report by The New York Times revealed that President Biden employed teleprompters during small fundraisers held at private homes, causing concern among his donors.
On Friday, four Times reporters reported that the president's inner circle had Mr. Biden use a teleprompter for small fund-raisers in private homes, which alarmed donors who were asked to provide questions beforehand.
Biden's use of teleprompters has resulted in numerous blunders during his presidency, earning him media attention.
In April 2024, while reading from a teleprompter, Biden accidentally included campaign speech instructions in his speech, causing an awkward applause line. This happened during a section of his remarks that were directly copied from his campaign stump speech.
"Biden envisions an America that safeguards democracy and preserves freedoms, rather than undermining them. He also sees an economy that thrives from the ground up, with the wealthy contributing their fair share to provide child care, paid leave, and other benefits, while reducing the federal deficit and boosting economic growth."
"Imagine what we could accomplish in four more years," he said, pausing before laughing.
In an interview with NBC's Lester Holt in July 2024, Biden stated that he is "on the horse" and doesn't require notes or teleprompters for his speeches.
"Biden angrily replied, "I've done 22 major events and thousands of people. Overwhelming crowds. A lot happening. I'm on the horse," when Holt asked if Biden would look to "get back on the horse" ahead of a second debate with Trump in September."
"Biden stated, "I am showcasing my ability to handle any questions without the need for notes or teleprompters. I demonstrated this during my speech in NATO, where I stood for an hour and answered questions confidently.""
