Fani Willis, the Fulton County DA, was "incorrect" to pursue the Georgia election interference case against President-elect Trump after a Georgia court invalidated her team's prosecution, according to George Washington University law professor Jonthan Turley, on Thursday.

The court's decision has a significant impact on Willis, as it implies that these cases are not meant to be personal projects. The lower court had previously ruled that Willis had created an appearance of impropriety, and the question for the court is why she did not remove herself. Many people at the time believed that most prosecutors would have recognized the harm caused by continuing the case and in the public interest. However, Willis remained determined to lead the case.

She was mistaken in bringing charges against Trump. There are some valid claims here. She accused some individuals of unlawful entry or access to restricted areas, which are not particularly serious offenses, but they are offenses nonetheless. She was wrong to pursue Trump on this basis. She was clearly seeking to engage in legal warfare, and that's why she refused to drop the case. At the time the issue was first raised, many of us believed that the proper course of action was to remove oneself. You chose a former lover as your lead counsel, which violated, in my view, fundamental ethical standards. He was eventually disqualified by the court. However, Judge McAfee gave her an opportunity to do the right thing. He said, "Your conduct is wrong here, and you can remove yourself." Unfortunately, he was speaking to the wrong person. She had no intention of removing herself. Lawfare is only effective if you are the lead warrior, and she was determined to maintain her position.

The court did not dismiss Trump's indictment entirely, but Willis and the assistant DAs working in her office no longer have the authority to proceed.

"We have determined that the trial court made a mistake by not disqualifying DA Willis and her office based on their findings in the order. Although the trial court attempted to remedy the issue by preventing an ongoing appearance of impropriety, it did not effectively address the impropriety that existed during times when DA Willis exercised her broad pretrial discretion in deciding who to prosecute and what charges to bring."

In an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital, Trump stated that the entire case was a "disgrace to justice."

"The Biden DOJ began an attack on Trump's political opponent, using anyone and anyone, resulting in the disqualification of his girlfriend and boyfriend, and the theft of funds and trips."

Trump stated that the case should not proceed any further.
