On "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert," Monday night, Jon Favreau, a former Obama aide and co-host of the "Pod Save America" podcast, queried Stephen Colbert about his thoughts on why Democrats might lose the 2024 presidential election.

Favreau argued that the Democratic Party should pay more attention to the concerns of Americans, stating, "For the past four years, a significant portion of Americans have expressed dissatisfaction with high prices and inflation, yet the White House has dismissed these concerns, citing positive statistics."

The podcast host criticized Democrats' decision to run former President Joe Biden in 2024.

According to Favreau, the majority of people expressed their opposition to Joe Biden running again due to his age, and they believed he should make way for a new candidate. However, the White House responded by saying that the polls were incorrect and that Biden would still run again, which was deemed acceptable.

Favreau stated, "As Democrats, we have consistently believed that being right is not enough; we must also persuade people to believe what we are saying."

Colbert responded, "Love it," over applause from the audience.

Tommy Vietor, a former Obama advisor and co-host of "Pod Save America," praised President Trump for his role in achieving the latest cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

What has changed since the last cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas that fell through in May, as asked by Colbert?

Vietor replied, "I believe President Trump's victory and the resulting pressure on Netanyahu and Hamas."

"So he [Trump] deserves credit?" Colbert asked.

Vietor stated, "He deserves a lot of credit. Biden's team did the diplomatic work, and Trump helped get it done. However, there is still more work that needs to be done by the Trump administration going forward."

After Vietor's response, Colbert shifted gears and asked Favreau for his thoughts on Biden's preemptive pardons.

Netanyahu commended both Trump and Biden for their contributions to the cease-fire negotiations, expressing gratitude to Biden for his dedication and praising Trump's statement that Gaza should never again be a "safe haven for terrorism."

Last Wednesday, Israel and Hamas reached a cease-fire agreement, with Hamas releasing 33 hostages over six weeks in exchange for hundreds of Palestinians currently imprisoned by Israel.
