A disagreement erupted among CNN panelists following a Democratic guest's assertion that the debate moderators had been "more critical" of Trump.
Nina Turner, a Democratic guest, criticized Harris for a weak explanation of her inconsistencies on issues such as fracking.
On Wednesday, a CNN panel disagreed over whether the ABC News presidential debate moderators were more critical of former President Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris.
Nina Turner, a former Democratic Ohio state senate representative, stated that she would provide some of the harsher questions that were posed to the president during the re-watch, and emphasized that multiple things can be true at the same time.
On Wednesday, she was part of a discussion with CNN host Abby Phillip, political commentator Scott Jennings, and former Trump adviser Bryan Lanza about the debate performances of Trump and Harris.
Turner was asked by Phillip to provide specific details about the moments she believed the moderators treated the two candidates differently.
The reason you keep bringing up her ethnicity question is because you want to press him on Project 2025. However, the man has stated that he has nothing to do with it. We can debate whether he is involved or not. Regarding the fracking question, the vice president stated in 2019 that they would eliminate it. However, they had her dead to rights on that issue. As a candidate, she can say that she has changed her mind and is not in favor of eliminating fracking in 2019 or 2020.
In 2020, Harris changed her stance on fracking and Philip objected.
Lanza and Jennings countered, stating that the argument was weak.
"That's the argument that she is making," Phillip said.
"It's a lie," Lanza added.
Turner argued that two things could be true at the same time.
"President Donald J. Trump lost, according to Turner, due to his lack of preparation and overconfidence in his ability to dominate the situation."
She analyzed the moderators' actions and found that they did not treat her the same.
