A Democratic strategist warns that the party's 'collapsing' alliance: 'Ignored the will of the people'
According to Julian Epstein, only professional elites are remaining loyal to the Democratic Party while others are shifting away from it.
A Democratic strategist contended that President-elect Trump's triumph in the 2024 presidential election was a "Marie Antoinette" moment for his party, demonstrating how "out of touch" Democrats have become with working-class voters.
Julian Epstein, a former chief counsel to Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee, stated on "The Brian Kilmeade Show" Monday that working-class voters were coming together regardless of race to "reject not just the Democratic Party, but the entire professional elite."
According to Epstein, it was the Democrats, billions of dollars, mainstream news media, Hollywood, Wall Street and Silicon Valley, universities, and the mainstream professional elite that had become the left.
The EV mandate and its impact on the auto industry and working-class Americans' jobs were cited as a prime example of how "out of touch" Democrats had become.
Brian Kilmeade, host of 'One Nation,' stated that looking at the auto number and the losses in the auto industry due to EV mandates is extraordinary.
Trump's strongest support came from White evangelicals, rural voters, Whites without a college degree, conservatives, and men, according to a Planet Chronicle Voter Analysis that found Trump making gains with Black and Hispanic voters.
Steve Kornacki, NBC News' national political correspondent, analyzed the Republican Party's success with working-class voters, specifically focusing on Trump's gains among younger voters and those with lower incomes.
In the years before Trump's presidency, young voters favored Democrats by 23 points, while those with lower incomes also leaned towards Democrats by 22 points.
In the 2024 election, Democrats received a 11-point advantage among voters under 30, while Republicans gained a 3-point edge among those with an income of $50,000 or less.
According to Epstein, Republicans have "appropriated" Democrats' "real estate" by addressing the concerns of working-class voters on various issues, including jobs, trade, automation, crime, opioids, and energy policy.
"Democrats should take a cue from the Republicans and focus on addressing the concerns and anxieties of working-class voters by building something rather than tearing it down."
"The Democrat coalition is imploding because they have not listened to the voters, except for professional elites, particularly white female elites."
