A Democratic lawmaker alleges a "slave mentality" exists among Hispanic Trump voters.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett praised Harris's campaign as "flawless" while also expressing frustration that Democratic voters hold candidates to high standards.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, claimed that many Hispanic voters supported President-elect Donald Trump due to a "slave mentality."
"Crockett stated to Vanity Fair on Friday that his distilled summary of events within the Latino community is that they often associate "illegals" with people who come from cartels and have a criminal reputation. He has not encountered this association in the Asian, African, or Caribbean communities."
"It almost reminds me of the hate that some slaves would have for themselves when they would talk about a 'slave mentality,' and it's wild to me how anti-immigrant many of them are, despite being new immigrants who can barely vote and have this attitude."
Despite Black voters generally supporting Vice President Kamala Harris in the election, there was some "flaking" among Black men, which Crockett attributed to misogyny.
Black people have historically been fiercely loyal, which is why they still have high turnout numbers despite some flaking. However, the flaking came from Black men, which I attribute to misogyny, as stated by Crockett.
She criticized White women, arguing that they "retreated" and contributed to Harris's failure, just as they did to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's defeat in 2016.
Crockett stated, "I said that I don't trust White women. I said that I'm just telling you, and I think you need to have conversations with your sisters, because they are the group that failed Hillary Clinton. I mean, when you go back and look at the numbers, White women were the ones that failed her. And so in my mind, if they failed Hillary, I don't know that I can believe that they won't fail Kamala."
Although some men she conversed with felt that the Democratic Party was diminishing them, she maintained that Harris was an ideal candidate who executed a faultless campaign.
Crockett argued that the Democratic Party's issue was a lack of clear messaging and setting an "unattainable standard" for themselves.
What is the reason behind the criticism of President Biden by some individuals? It seems that they are unaware that Republicans are supporting their leader. Additionally, these individuals were quick to call for Biden's removal from office following a poor debate performance. However, when Trump had a bad debate, there was no acknowledgment of it. Instead, he simply declared that he would no longer participate. It is worth considering the importance of accepting imperfection in non-perfect individuals, and Democrats should reflect on this issue.
