Undergoing surgery for six days, Moss stated that he had spent time in the hospital.

Randy Moss, the NFL legend, announced he had cancer and the football community supported him during an Instagram livestream on Friday.

Moss stated that he had been in the hospital for six days, undergoing surgery, and that the doctors had discovered cancer in his bile duct, located between the pancreas and the liver.

"We made it through some trying times," Moss said, "and I am a cancer survivor."

The former wide receiver received support from his former teammates and teams on social media.

Julian Edelman, former Patriots teammate, posted a message about mental toughness in human form, expressing support and love to his teammates.

"Randy, you've always been great at dominating opponents and I'm sure you'll do it again! You've got this!" Rob Gronkowski posted.

On Dec. 6, ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown" analyst Moss stepped away from his role.

"Once I'm healthy, I'll be back out with guys and hopefully join you soon," Moss stated.

"My goal is to get back on television with my team."

The NFL veteran, who is enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, spent 14 seasons in the league and holds the second spot on the Vikings' all-time receiving yards list with 9,316 yards.

The six-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro will turn 48 in February.
