During the first quarter of Monday night's playoff victory over the Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee encountered a critical issue.

On Tuesday, Sean McVay, the Rams head coach, informed reporters that Higbee was admitted to the hospital due to a chest injury. He stated that Higbee had "spit up a little bit of blood," as reported on the team's website.

McVay expressed optimism that Higbee would return for the team's divisional round game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

"He believes he'll be prepared, but I haven't received any updates from Reggie Scott yet. You could sense his presence early on. He was on track for a big night, and he still made a significant contribution even while playing a quarter," he stated, according to The Orange County Register.

During the regular season, Higbee played only three games due to knee surgery he underwent in the offseason. However, he made a significant impact in his season debut against the New York Jets, scoring a touchdown catch in the 19-9 win.

On Monday night, he led the team with five catches for 58 yards, although he left early.

Matthew Stafford, the star quarterback of the Rams, successfully completed 19 out of 27 passes for a total of 209 yards and two touchdowns. He distributed the passes to eight different receivers, including Higbee.
