Trump pledges to eliminate taxes on overtime wages: "Your overtime hours will be tax-free"
Trump has pledged to eliminate taxes on Social Security benefits and tips for service workers.
Trump pledges to abolish taxes on overtime pay as part of a set of proposed reductions, claiming it will give workers more disposable income.
At a campaign rally in Tucson, Arizona, Trump stated that it provides people with more motivation to work and benefits companies greatly.
Those who put in extra hours at work are some of our country's hardest-working citizens, yet for an extended period, no one in Washington has been advocating for them.
"Police officers, nurses, factory workers, construction workers, truck drivers, and machine operators are the individuals who truly work."
Trump aims to flip Arizona, which he lost by a narrow margin in 2020, back to red.
""If you're an overtime worker and work more than 40 hours a week, your overtime hours will be tax-free," he stated."
Trump and Vice President Harris have both pledged to eliminate taxes on Social Security benefits, remove taxes on tips for service workers, and increase the minimum wage.
According to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, removing taxes on tip income and raising the minimum wage could result in a deficit increase of between $100 billion and $200 billion over a 10-year period.
