The former SEC chairman, Jay Clayton, is nominated by Trump to serve as the US attorney for the Southern District of NY.
During Trump's first term as president, Clayton was a member of the SEC.
On Thursday, President-elect Trump revealed that he has chosen Jay Clayton to be the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.
"Jay Clayton, a highly respected business leader, counsel, and public servant, has been nominated by me to be the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The president-elect stated that Jay will be a powerful advocate for truth as part of the effort to "Make America Great Again."
