A Houston man has been arrested by the FBI on charges of having ties to ISIS and plotting a terrorist attack on US soil.
Anas Said, 28, confessed to boasting about carrying out a "9/11-style" attack if he had the necessary means.
On Thursday, an FBI agent arrested a Texas man who allegedly tried to support ISIS and planned a terrorist attack in the United States, all from his Houston apartment.
Anas Said, a 28-year-old man, was looking for ways to carry out violent acts in support of the Islamic State in the Houston area. He has been accused of trying to aid the terrorist group.
According to FBI Special Agent in Charge Douglas Williams, it was reported that someone was arrested last week at the apartment complex where they resided.
Said, while in custody, confessed to researching ways to carry out an attack on local military recruiting centers, offering his home as a safe haven for ISIS operatives, boasting about committing a "9/11-style" attack if he had the means, and attempting to create ISIS propaganda.
"We prevented a terrorist attack from occurring in Houston! Any day we can make that statement is a good day," said the FBI Houston.
