RFK Jr. appointed as head of Department of Health and Human Services by Trump.
President-elect Trump received an endorsement from RFK Jr. after he withdrew from the Democratic race.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was appointed by President-elect Trump to head the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Trump announced Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the new Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) on Thursday. He stated that Americans have been oppressed by the food and drug industries for too long, who have spread false information and misled the public about public health.
Trump stated that the safety and health of all Americans is the most important role of any administration, and the HHS will play a significant role in ensuring that everyone is protected from harmful chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, pharmaceutical products, and food additives that have contributed to the health crisis in the country. He added that he will restore these agencies to the traditions of gold standard scientific research and transparency to end the chronic disease epidemic and make America great and healthy again.
The announcement comes just over a week after Trump won back the presidency.
Kennedy, the son of former U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, initially ran as a Democrat in the 2024 campaign cycle but dropped out in August before switching to an independent run.
After suspending his campaign, he supported Trump and campaigned for the Trump-Vance ticket, emphasizing his plans to improve public health under a potential Trump presidency.
He also spoke at Trump's historic Madison Square Garden rally last month, where he criticized the current state of the Democratic Party.
The Democratic Party is a party of war and the CIA. The party's speech at the convention was written by neocons and was belligerent and pugnacious. It talked about the domination of the world by the United States through our weapons of war. The party today wants to divide Americans and is dismantling women's sports by allowing men to play in them.
"The party of Wall Street is the Harris campaign, which received $50 million from Bill Gates and endorsements from 50 former CIA agents and officers, John Bolton, and Dick Cheney."
Kennedy was questioned about his possible role in the upcoming White House and whether he would commence "eliminating the top-tier federal employees currently working at the FDA and the CDC."
The nutrition department in the FDA must be eliminated because they are not performing their duties and are not safeguarding our children. It is astonishing that Froot Loops in the US contain 18 or 19 ingredients, while in Canada, they have only two or three.
In 2008, Obama seriously considered appointing Kennedy to head the Environmental Protection Agency.
Earlier Thursday, Karoline Leavitt, a transition team spokesperson, joined Planet Chronicle and stated that more Cabinet picks would be announced later that afternoon. Additionally, she highlighted Kennedy as a "once in a generation thought leader" who would likely be offered a position in the administration.
President Trump has made it clear that he wants to find a place for RFK JR. in his administration. RFK JR. is a once-in-a-generation thought leader who is an independent mind and a critical thinker. We need more of that in Washington, D.C. While President Trump has not yet announced RFK JR.'s specific position, he has promised to make America healthy again. With an appointment of RFK JR. to whatever position President Trump decides, that promise will be delivered upon.
This week, Kennedy urged ordinary Americans to propose policies and individuals to be implemented under Trump's second administration, with Kennedy allies launching a website called "Policies for the People" to collect suggestions from voters.
The website claims that the recommendations will assist in filling the more than 4,000 appointments throughout the executive branch.
"President Trump has appointed Bobby Kennedy to a leadership role on his transition team to help "drain the swamp." However, Bobby recognizes that he cannot do this alone and is seeking the guidance of his supporters and the broader community."
Elon Musk's vision for "maximum transparency" in his upcoming role as co-leader of the Department of Government Efficiency is reflected in the creation of the "DOGE" task force, which aims to streamline government operations, reduce red tape, eliminate wasteful spending, and reorganize federal agencies.
The Department of Government Efficiency will make all its actions public online for maximum transparency. If the public suspects that we are cutting something important or not cutting something wasteful, they can let us know. We will also have a leaderboard for the most insanely dumb spending of taxpayer money. This will be both tragic and entertaining, as per Musk's X post.
