A former liberal activist who gained notoriety for a pro-Trump social media post reports that the assassination attempt strengthened their support.
In 2016, Stepfanie Tyler shed tears upon Trump's victory, but now she considers it liberating to support him.
In 2014, Stepfanie Tyler walked through Las Vegas with a "F--- Trump" t-shirt featuring an unflattering photo of the newly inaugurated president.
The former women's studies major is inquiring about the availability of MAGA hats in black.
Tyler shared with Planet Chronicle Digital on Monday that seeing Trump's reaction to an attempted assassination made her feel patriotism.
Over the weekend, Tyler's social media following grew rapidly after the assassination attempt on the former president prompted her to publicly support Trump.
"Watching Trump survive an assassination attempt and act like a total savage shifted me into a patriotic mindset that my liberal background never allowed me to experience," she wrote on X after a brief summary of her liberal background.
In her post, viewed by tens of millions in 24 hours, she stated, "I’m sorry, but I’m voting for that."
On Thursday morning, the post had surpassed 57 million views on X.
The entrepreneur with a marketing background and passion for AI has gained the attention of Elon Musk, been labeled a "must read" by Bill Ackman, and received numerous direct messages from individuals who are hesitant to publicly express their political views. She describes the experience as "surreal" and "liberating."
"Coming from women's studies and now being here seems a bit challenging," she admitted. "I never imagined this would happen, but people change and grow, and here I am."
Tyler, 35, initially identified as "pretty far left" before college. However, she drifted apart from her conservative father, who became a police officer around the time she was studying women's studies.
"Clearly, those two things conflicted at that moment," she admitted, fully owning up to the political rift that resulted between father and daughter. "He didn't care about my voting choice for a single second."
Tyler's transformation from crying over the 2016 election results to publicly endorsing Trump was a result of numerous small moments over the years, including the excesses of the Me Too movement, the debate over biological sex, and the consequences of DEI policies.
Even though she had long harbored doubts about the validity of her skepticism of liberal ideology, the entrepreneur's fear of speaking up about her true opinions was exacerbated by the belief that "People will destroy your livelihood."
"At that moment, she felt like there was a reason everyone was saying this, but she realized she was missing something."
Although she secretly registered as a Republican in 2018, she voted for Biden two years later, believing him to be a better option than the businessman from Queens. She attributes Trump's nearly hour-long appearance on the "All-In" podcast, hosted by four venture capitalists, with starting to open her mind.
She remembered thinking, "This doesn't sound like what I thought he sounded like based on CNN or social media clips."
On Saturday, a 20-year-old suspected shooter opened fire at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, killing a father and injuring two other spectators. The shooter was later killed by U.S. Secret Service personnel.
As she was preparing dinner, Tyler received a text from a friend about the assassination attempt. She immediately turned on the TV and watched a replay of the shooting moments after it occurred.
As the former president touched his head and disappeared behind the podium, she experienced a moment of clarity.
She thought, "He'd better get up," as she left her food in the kitchen.
He punched the air, blood dripping down his face, with an American flag billowing in the background, an image that has been labeled "iconic" by many, including Tyler.
"I wanted to discuss it, didn't I? I experienced a strong sense of patriotism," she stated. "I am a part of this magnificent nation that the left wanted me to view through a distorted lens."
Although many have praised her courage for her now viral X post, she admitted to feeling "impatient" while writing it.
I want humanity to succeed and I want to be on the side that is contributing to its success, like tech giants such as Musk and David Sacks who have supported Trump.
"My goal is to innovate, support innovators, and propel the country forward."
Tyler, who has been bombarded with messages from people feeling "suffocated" by popular narratives, has started to break free from "mental prisons" they've been trapped in. The assassination attempt ignited a sense of patriotism in many of these voters, including Tyler, who has even been shopping for an American flag on Amazon.
"She stated that patriotism is often misunderstood, and it shouldn't be associated with political sides. Instead, it should be about supporting America, and she believes that the right is currently doing so."
