They discovered a peculiar object while gardening in May and decided to investigate it further. They took the object to the Masovian Voivodeship Conservator of Monuments for examination.
The ax discovered was found to be a Neolithic artifact, dating back over 4,000 years, according to a May 25 Facebook post from the Masovian Voivodeship Conservator of Monuments.
The ancient find was transferred to the Voivodic Monument Protection Office in Warsaw after it was identified.
The family that discovered the artifact was awarded a certificate as a gesture of appreciation in a post on June 4.
The woman who found the object is shown holding the certificate in a photo with the family, including the baby.
"Our guests' model attitude is something we encourage you to follow," the Facebook post stated.
