Six individuals, including Greta Thunberg, were detained during an anti-Israel demonstration in Denmark.
Several protests have resulted in the arrest of Thunberg.
On Wednesday, six individuals, including activist Greta Thunberg, were detained at Copenhagen University due to their demonstration against the institution's ties to Israel.
Thunberg has been involved in anti-Israel protests in Europe, despite her international fame for climate activism.
""At the University of Copenhagen's administration building, I and Students Against the Occupation are currently present. Police have arrived, entered the building with an assault rifle-wearing ram, and are currently evicting everyone," Thunberg wrote on Instagram."
She later added that students were being arrested and taken to the station at that very moment.
Copenhagen University is being pressured by a student group to sever all ties with Israeli universities and organizations.
The group criticized the Niels Bohr Institute, the physics department at CU named after the renowned physicist, while praising the Erasmus student exchange program that enables Israeli students to study in Denmark.
The Niels Bohr Institute lists "Physics of Ice, Climate and Earth" as a major research topic, while critics of Thunberg claimed that her appearance at the protest was hypocritical, stating on social media that the university has partnered with Israeli groups on a program focused on solving climate change. Planet Chronicle Digital was unable to find such a program.
"The institute's website states that it studies water stable isotopes, greenhouse gas, impurity concentrations, and ice properties in its laboratories in order to understand both gradual and abrupt climatic changes of the past, present, and future."
According to Danish media, five people were arrested in addition to Thunberg, who was one of a group of roughly 20 protesters who demonstrated inside a university administration building in Copenhagen.
Police have confirmed that Thunberg has since been released.
