Netanyahu expresses condolences for the deaths of six hostages rescued in Gaza and pledges to take revenge against Hamas.
Israeli forces arrived too late to save the 6 hostages who were murdered by the IDF.
This weekend, six hostages' bodies were discovered in Gaza, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his condolences.
On Saturday, six individuals, all of whom were Israeli or Israeli-American, were confirmed dead. The IDF stated that they appeared to have been murdered right before Israeli forces arrived.
Netanyahu stated, "My wife and I, along with the entire nation, deeply mourn the loss of our sons and daughters. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our forces, including the IDF soldiers and ISA fighters, who bravely put their lives on the line to bring our loved ones back home."
"I declare to the Hamas terrorists who took our hostages and their leaders: You will pay the consequences. We will not stop, nor will we remain silent. We will track you down, find you and settle our scores with you," he stated.
Hamas has rejected proposals at every turn during the ongoing cease-fire negotiations, according to Netanyahu.
"Whoever murders hostages does not want a deal," Netanyahu said.
We will not give up on our pursuit of a deal that guarantees our security and the release of our hostages, as the Government of Israel and I are both fully committed to this goal.
At a music festival in southern Israel, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, a 23-year-old Israeli-American hostage, was abducted during Hamas' Oct. 7 attack. His body was discovered in the tunnels under Rafah on Saturday, along with other hostages, including Carmel Gat, Eden Yerushalmi, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi, and Master Sergeant Ori Danino.
Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, an IDF spokesperson, stated that based on our initial evaluation, they were brutally murdered by Hamas terrorists right before we arrived on the scene.
Goldberg-Polin, a dual U.S.-Israeli citizen, immigrated to Israel with his family in 2008 at the age of seven. He is leaving behind his parents, Jon Polin and Rachel Goldberg, and his two sisters.
The Biden administration met with Goldberg-Polin's family and friends who traveled the world to demand his release.
