On Saturday, CENTCOM announced that it had destroyed one Iranian-backed Houthi UAV and one USV in Yemen in the past 24 hours.
The U.S. military stated that the UAV and USV posed a "clear and immediate danger" to U.S. and coalition forces, as well as merchant vessels in the Middle Eastern region.
CENTCOM stated that the action was undertaken to safeguard freedom of navigation and enhance the security of international waters for U.S., coalition, and merchant vessels.
The conflict between Israel and Hamas has intensified since the Hezbollah attack on an Israeli soccer field.
The attack, in July, killed 12 children and wounded dozens more.
